Phew!
It's been more than a wk since my last entry... No choice... Hv to take care of my two baobeis... Tiring yet happy...
Actually, confinement for me shld be a breeze since I did nt hv to do any chores.. At most I feed the baby n looking after him.. Mummy's helping me wif the bathing(cos of my wound I can't bathe him yet) n sometimes the formula feeding.. Hv been breastfeeding Joshua since his birth.. Getting the hang of it but little Joshua's very naughty.. Very 'li siao siao'..often changing his position to breastfeed n formula feed..
To be honest, breastfeeding really tiring..cos every one or two hours need to feed.. Luckily I mix - at certain timings I breastfeed while other timings I formula feed..
Initially I didn't want to breastfeed after the first two wks cos really tiring...lost a lot of slp.. But as I get the hang of the timings, I can get at least 3 hours of slp in between the feeds..
Take for example, I breastfeed Joshua @ 10am... He will start making noises for feeding in 1 or 1 n a half hour's time...thus I can't get much rest..
But if I feed him wif formula @ 10am, he will only start making noises in 3 hours' time...Breastfeed him for abt half an hour, I can drag his next formula feed for 1, 2 hours.
This way, I kill two birds wif a stone - can be sure that Joshua gets enough milk..and he's gets breastfed..(It has been proven tat breastfeeding is good for the baby n his health...also good for the mummy cos uterus regain its size faster n mummy's figure also regain faster..)
Well, enough of feedings..
My baby's full mth celebration is this wk.. Had to source for caterers n gift boxes for the relatives...
I'm so nervous... I dunno whether my baobei's relatives wld like Joshua or nt...
I'm so happy tat the month is coming to an end... though I'll miss the comfortable treatment (no need to do chores..heehee) but at least I get bathe whenever I want n eat watever I want...
And the happiest thing of all is tat I get to wash my hair..
Can you believe it??? I think all my friends wld nv believe me if I told them... BUT...Yup! I hvn't washed my hair for almost a mth.. I'm very looking forward to this sat when I can wash my hair n hv a hair cut!
Anyway.. back to baby's full mth preparation..
I'm gonna be the one cutting my little baobei's nails cos I dun think Baobei Laogong dares to do so..neither does my mummy..So, I'll be the 'brave' one to do it. For my family, from we're babies, it has been my daddy who cut our nails.. But daddy's old nw , eyesight failing thus me to do it..
Joshua's hair wun be cut till further notice.. Hvn't really decide whether to let him keep the baby hair or cut it.. But for sure, on his full mth, his hair will be 'untouched'.
The list of caterers I've sourced out were:
Selected
Elsie's Kitchen as the caterer... recommended by PJ for their good food... said to be value for money..Initially had chosen Mum's Kitchen cos they offer the traditional ang ku kuehs, red eggs n glutinous rice as part of the food menu..and the menu offered seems appetitizing..But in the end, opted for Elsie's cos there was sth tat did nt meet my requirements..
I visited a lot of websites to source for full mth cakes n full mth gift boxes..Shortlisted the following:
For the gift boxes..I decided to try out sth new.. Instead of hving those traditional cake gift boxes, I chose to Sweet Surprise's gift boxes..The selected package is as below:

The gift box is made up of:
- Personalised Box and Card
- 2 Wrapped Red Eggs
- 2 Ang Ku Kueh
- 2 Bars of Personalised Premium Chocolate
- 1 Box of Glutinous Rice
- 1 Packet of Heart-shaped Sweets
I chose this cos it's really pretty n modern, yet maintaining the required traditional touch to it.
I think many young parents or even some of the older generation wld love this..At least my mummy does (nt tat she's old..) And the pricing is quite reasonable..esp for sth like this..
For those of you who are interested, can visit their website @
http://www.sweetsurprise.com.sgBaobei baby is getting bigger each day...
Oh ya..to share sth great wif Joshua's godparents (if they read this..)
Joshua can lift his head up!!! Caught it on Baobei's hp.. Will try to upload the video these days..Laogong's been very busy wif his projects..
Oh..oh...Nt only tat.. Baby can also turn his head himself!!! But too bad it wasn't caught on video..and so far it only happen twice..
By right, babies can only lift their heads n turn their heads after 1 or 2 months.. But Joshua did both when he's less than a month old!!!
Laogong n I...mummy n PJ... We're all so proud of Joshua!
To end this entry,..
"Baobei baby - Joshua, Daddy and Mummy are so proud of you.. You're our pride! Love you always.."
